IT Security Specialist Job in Sydney CBD

Calling all IT Security Specialists who are seeking opportunities in Sydney’s CBD for a top tier Federal Government Department. This is a long term contract which will take you on an exciting 12-month journey with the possibility to extend for a further six months. You will be joining an established team, working on a number of complex BAU tasks.
Due to the nature of our client and environment, you will not be considered for this position unless you are a current Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Address requests and incidents raised by the client’s IT Security customers
- Execute any IT Security related Commissioning or Decommission Tasks
- Assist in the development of appropriate technical rules/policy for Whitelisting, Firewalls, Proxy, and other gateway devices
- Investigate and Manage Security Infrastructure issues including email, proxy, and firewalls.
- Investigate and Manage IT Security Incidents
- Manage SSL Certificate, Proxy, and other Whitelisting Requests
- Assist with design, implementation, upgrade and support of IT Security Infrastructure
- Develop guidance and training advice for client users
- Manage Regular Health Checks of IT Security Infrastructure
- Provide IT security services that meet business and information protection needs, including ICT security program management, gateway security operations, cybersecurity and identity, and access management operational support
Skills and Experience:
- Network perimeter security technologies (firewalls, IPS/IDS and web content filters)
- Windows Host-based Security Technologies
- System Hardening across Operating Systems and Applications
- McAfee Endpoint Security including HIPS and AV
- Other Security Technologies including SIEM, Web Proxies, Email Gateways, etc.
- 5 + years of experience in an information technology role, with experience in information security for at least 3 of those years
